Local Restrictions Support Grant Extended
The Local Restrictions Support Grant was launched last year to support those businesses required to close due to local or national restrictions and which pay business rates. Due to the new lockdown, the Government have announced a one-off top up grant for retail, hospitality, and leisure businesses worth up to £9,000 per property to help businesses through to the Spring.
The level of grant available is as follows:
- For properties with a rateable value of £15,000 or under, grants will be for £4,000;
- For properties with a rateable value of between £15,000 and £51,000, grants will be for £6,000;
- For properties with a rateable value of £51,000 or over, grants will be for £9,000.
The Government has confirmed that a £594 million discretionary fund will also be made available to support other businesses not eligible for these grants, that might be affected by the restrictions.
Businesses can apply for these grants via their local council and you can search for your local council website here for further details on applications.
